Iona College - preparing the next generation of entrepreneurs, innovators and leaders

A new Institute for the development and training of entrepreneurship will be funded by a $15 million grant from The Hynes Foundation announced in March 2017.   Starting in the Fall of 2017, the core undergraduate curriculum will expose all students to the concept and structures underlying the development of an "entrepreneurial mind-set".  The Institute will encompass coursework that will evolve into both a Minor and Major course of studies, with all students being exposed to the concept within the Core Studies curriculum. There are plans to offer a Certificate Program and there will be opportunities for students to participate in startup development and a work/study program that is anticipated to include an incubator/accelerator environment.

"Knowing that every profession requires a degree of entrepreneurial thinking and the skills and drive to innovate, Jim and Anne Marie Hynes have come forward to support academic innovation, transformation and the elevation of Iona College."  Joseph E. Nyre, Ph.D., President of Iona College.
